UGC NET June 2026 results out, including re-test results for English, Commerce and Sociology
NTA declared UGC NET June 2026 results for 84 subjects on 28 August 2026 and, after a re-test on 9 and 10 September, for English, Commerce and Sociology on 17 September 2026.
NTA has declared the results of the UGC NET June 2026 cycle for all subjects.
- 84 subjects: results declared on 28 August 2026. Of 6,07,151 candidates who appeared, 4,241 qualified for JRF and Assistant Professor, 45,904 for Assistant Professor and PhD admission, and 97,434 for PhD admission only.
- English, Commerce and Sociology: on 16 August 2026 NTA decided to re-conduct these three papers after a committee found many factual, typographical and translation errors, as well as repeated questions. The re-test was held on 9 and 10 September 2026, and results were declared on 17 September 2026. Of 1,20,355 candidates who appeared, 824 qualified for JRF, 11,610 for Assistant Professor and 23,154 for PhD admission only.
For the three re-tested subjects, NTA said the Assistant Professor quota (6% of candidates who appeared) would be based on the June test or the re-test, whichever had more candidates, and that subject allocations would not be reduced after the re-test.
