The Railway Recruitment Boards issued an indicative notice on 12 October 2026 about the first-stage Computer Based Test (CBT-1) for CEN No. 06/2026, which covers Non-Technical Popular Categories (Graduate) posts.
- CBT-1 is tentatively planned to start in the fourth week of December 2026.
- Exact dates will be given in a separate notice once they are finalised.
- The RRBs said the advance notice is meant to help candidates plan their preparation and travel.
Applications under CEN 06/2026 remain open until 6 November 2026 (11:59 pm) on rrbapply.gov.in.
CBT-1 pattern (from the CEN): 100 questions in 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates eligible for a scribe), with about 40 on General Awareness, 30 on Mathematics and 30 on General Intelligence and Reasoning. One-third of a mark is deducted for each wrong answer. CBT-1 is a screening test, and its normalised score is used to shortlist candidates for CBT-2.
