CLAT 2027: MNLU Mumbai adds transgender and orphan categories; applicants can update by 31 October
The Consortium of NLUs has added transgender and orphan reservation categories to MNLU Mumbai's seat matrix for CLAT 2027 (UG and PG). Eligible applicants can update their reservation in the application form by 31 October 2026.
The Consortium of National Law Universities issued a notification on 16 October 2026 announcing changes to the seat matrix of Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU), Mumbai, for admissions through CLAT 2027.
Two reservation categories have been added at MNLU Mumbai, for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes:
- Transgender
- Orphan
What to do
Applicants who are eligible under either of the new categories should update their reservation details by 31 October 2026, which is also the last date for CLAT 2027 applications. To do this, log in to the CLAT account, choose Edit Application Form, open the Reservations tab, answer the Maharashtra domicile question shown under MNLU Mumbai, tick the category being claimed and save the changes.
The Consortium has also asked candidates to read MNLU Mumbai's updated brochure, which is available on the Participating Universities page of the Consortium website, before making changes.
CLAT 2027 is scheduled for 6 December 2026. Candidates with questions can contact the Consortium helpdesk between 10 am and 5 pm on working days.
